Four MHS sophomores were inducted into the McClave National Honor Society on Wednesday, February 5th at the annual induction ceremony. National Honor Society is an organization that holds academically sound students to higher standards. Honorably inducted this year included Maggie Chase, Anna Beckett, Cassidy Jagers, and Ajah Moreno. Each member of the NHS helped play a role in the smooth sailing of this ceremony, including the advisor behind the scenes, Kelly Curley.

During the ceremony, Mr. Holmes and Mrs. Howe spoke to the old and new members of the NHS relaying how proud they were of the accomplishments of the students involved with this organization. Newly inducted Anna Beckett said, “This will be a new experience for me, but I am excited.” She added, “I think NHS will help me become a more well-rounded person, with all the community service that we will do.”

National Honor Society members exhibit qualities that place them among the top students in their class, not just in terms of academics but also in terms of leadership, service, and character. Members show a commitment to community service projects, and the organization provides the opportunity to network with like-minded peers.

As McClave School Cardinals, we have four core values: Excellence, Honesty, Integrity, and Respect. Each one of these members of the NHS upholds these standards and are always ready to give their all at whatever task is at hand. Congratulations to all NHS members on their high achievements.
